Vilafonté
Vilafonté is the first American and South African joint venture in the wine industry. This ground breaking unique red wine project is a partnership between Zelma Long, viticulturist, Phil Freese and marketer, Mike Ratcliffe.
Only two wines are produced, Series C and Series M. Series C is a Cabernet dominant blend and the Series M has Merlot as its main player. Both have layers of flavour and incredible length but at no point are they overpowering..
Vilafonte now has its own winery in the heart of the town of Stellenbosch and an ever increasing pile of accolades including 4 ½ stars for both 2005 wines in the 2008 Platter Guide.
