The village of Mercurey takes its name from a temple to the God Mercurey errected in the area by Roman Legions. Its viticultural history also dates back to Roman times. Mercurey wines are distinctive and characterised by their ample penetrating earthy fruit and well structured palate.

Tasting note

The Mercury 2009 has a deep bright colour. Aromas of plums and morello cherries make way for ample and powerful flavours of violets and liquorice to come through on the palate. Good tannins on the finish mark the true characteristics of Mercurey.
