Meursault Goutte d'Or is the first premier cru found when leaving the village in the direction of Puligny-Montrachet. It is located high on the slope with an elevation similar to that of Les Perrières, Les Genervrières, Les Charmes and Les Poruzots. The wine itself is all one would expect it to be with a powerful nose, a rich nutty, buttery palate with a wealth of peach and apricot fruit.
Tasting note
Rich, floral and buttered toast aromas. The palate is rounded and smooth with good structure and crisp acidity. Almond, peach and apricot fruits characteristics lead to a long lingering finish.
Awards and Accolades
91 Points, Burghound (USA), June 2011
"A notably ripe nose of lemon, apple and peach aromas stops just short of being exotic as the extremely fresh and vibrant medium weight flavors possess fine mid-palate concentration that coats the mouth on the serious and admirably persistent if not especially refined finish. Still, this offers both more overall depth as well as finishing persistence and is the better effort. Worth a look." Drink 2015+
