Since 1969 our Clare Valley estate has been based around traditional eighty acre vineyard blocks. Celebrating that heritage and our ongoing commitment to environmental stewardship, Eighty Acres is the world’s first 100% carbon neutral wine range based on an ISO 14044 compliant Life Cycle Assessment which accurately measures the carbon dioxide emissions at every step in the product lifecycle. That lifecycle begins in the vineyard before harvesting and ultimately ends with the consumption, disposal and recycling of the finished packaging. Meaning that ultimately our wine is as down to earth as the soil from which it is grown.
Tasting note
The wine is medium bodied and quite juicy in texture. It has a delicacy and displays sweet, concentrated fruit flavours of juicy plums and blackberry, along with subtle spicy apricot. This is a well integrated and balanced wine with an enjoyable persistence to the finish.

'Deep garnet-purple colored, 2008 Eighty Acres Shiraz Viognier gives a moderate intensity of ripe blackberry, blueberry and anise aromas with supporting notes of cassia, mace and cumin seed. Full bodied and fruity in the mouth, it has crisp acid and a medium level of rounded tannins, going long and spicy in the finish. Drinking now, it should remain delicious through 2014.'
