St Andrews is the flagship range from Wakefield Wines. In 1995 the Taylor family purchased the historic St Andrews property next door to the Wakefield estate, releasing their first wines in 1999. The wines are hand crafted from individually selected parcels of fruit, grown on the family’s estate vineyards, and are a true labour of love. The wines have consistently accumulated an impressive number of awards and continue to attract national and international recognition for their outstanding quality.
Tasting note
This wine has fresh, lifted aroma of white peach, subtle pineapple, a hint of honey dew melon and enticing cashew nut. The palate has a rich texture to the mid-palate whilst still retaining a slightly mineral acid backbone, giving it an overall elegance with a touch of creaminess from the lees maturation and battonage. Flavours of white peach, nectarine, cream and cashews are evident along with cleansing citrus at the finish which has wonderful persistence.

'2008 Wakefield St Andrews Chardonnay has a good intensity of stone fruit, cream, meal and apple tart aromas. Medium bodied with plenty peach and pear flavors and refreshing acidity, it gives a long creamy finish. Drinking now, it should remain fresh to 2014+'
