The Domaine de Valmoissine is located on the site of the ancient monastery and university of Valmoissine at 500 metres above sea-level. This high altitude provides plenty of sunshine with cooler temperaturesl ensuring the grapes ripen slowly avoiding jammy flavours or too much alcohol. Winemaking is simple and employs traditional Burgundian techniques. | |

Tasting note |
Intense purple red with ripe fruit aromas on the nose. The palate is very fruity and the tannins are present but they should mellow out over the next few months to become quite silky.

Victoria Moore, The Telegraph, 20th August 2011'The vineyards aren't far from the craggy Gorge du Verdon high in Provence, and you can almost smell warm summer hillsides in the glass. Pretty, uplifting and scented like raspberries and cherries, this is consistently one of my favourite sub £10 pinot noirs.' |
